Sept. '15 – Embassy Salutes Grad Bound for Japan


H.E. Mr. Yukio Numata, ambassador of Japan to Tonga, visited campus 9 September to personally extend 'Atenisi graduate 'Okusitino Tae his best wishes, as Tae prepares to deploy a tuition scholarship at the University of Ryukyus on Okinawa.

The student received an associate's degree at graduation on 11 September, and will head to Japan on the 23rd. "It's an honour to be granted a scholarship to study in your country," Tae told the ambassador, "and you may be assured I will take full advantage of the opportunity."

In a recent interview in Taimi 'o Tonga, Tae indicated he planned to study the politics of East Asia whilst in Japan in preparation for a diplomatic career.
